  1. Patrick – we’re not playing Mazes and Monsters. Unlike Tom Hanks, I like distinguishing players from characters.

Of course I am very guilty of purposefully blurring that line by choosing character names that are very vernacular. Brings a smile every time I hear players refer to me as Chuck (the best would be if someone tries a formal address like Charles)! Makes me think I role play well even though I am a terrible actor…. As a matter of fact, Rahm Benisaeko was my Samurai character in the first Roll20 campaign I played with John Carlson. I was hoping it would help my fellow players identify my character, but now it means nothing to those I RPG with now.

Consider this, you would have had to switch between two profile pics last session: one for my character and another for the Paladin. Then every time you switch between Frosts and Graveyards (let alone any other hangouts you might join in the future).

Perhaps you haven’t noticed we use our Avatar IDs in Roll20 to identify character to player combinations. In Graveyards, my Avatar ID is “Chuq (Ray)” and in Frosts it is “Zho ni (Ray)”. We have gone to far as to list all those henchmen we are responsible to roll for (to make things easier on John Carlson and quickly determine who does what). At those time my Avatar Id was something like : “Chuq/Talon/Sturloc/Recussin/Adelard (Ray)”
