  1. Rahm Benisaeko, I always envisioned bursts (like in Vargen) but you can imagine it as continuous but more diluted if you like. You also make a good point about the overseer — it is his enclosure taking the brunt of the attack rather than his “body” (especially with the volume of liquid and the fact that it’s being recycled). Here’s what I did: I rolled four rounds of saves for the casing (which it passed) and reduced the damage he’s suffered by half. I thought about allowing him a save to cast spells in a round even after taking damage (under the frog in boiling water rationale), but decided that — while more realistic — it was too mean and would guarantee the party’s demise.
