John Carlson How do I handle Edan’s different XP levels – I track both separately now that they’re no longer in sync? Previous GMs never had me freeze the XP without training – ie: it’s not that you’re not learning new things, you just haven’t learned to apply them.

I will give this some more thought, but the most obvious answer would be to track the two numbers separately (the AD&D manuals are not explicit about how this applies to multi-class individuals, but it is the logical extension of the training/leveling rules for single-class characters).
That’s what I’m doing for now – I don’t mind, but figured I should ask.
My two cents (don’t know the British equivalent) – always tracked each class separate since an exceptional ability bonus could always apply to a single class vs both or none.
Rahm Benisaeko hmm – I always assumed they didn’t stack.
Alessandro Bertolucci they don’t but a cleric/fighter/thief with 15 WIS will have a 10% bonus to all Cleric XP awards meaning it’s Cleric XP will always be different than it’s Fighter & Thief XP unless it’s STR and DEX are also 15 or above.
Rahm Benisaeko, that’s a good point about the XP bonuses. The mechanics for level draining also assume separate tracking.
Actually the wording in the PHB is that a character receives a bonus to ALL experience awards from the DM. Perhaps it should stack? Good ole GG is at it again….
I don’t think stacking is correct — it sounds like the intent there is to include all rewards (treasure, monsters, etc.) earned by the class in question.
Agreed, John Carlson. Reading GG is so akin to Tolkien at times. Know what mean?
so are we starting early tonight.before every ones bed time.
